All organized play on Borough Fields must be approved through the Recreation Department by obtaining a Field Permit. Organized play is considered, but not limited to, team practices or gameplay with a coach and individuals providing instruction to players. To view the permit application, requirements and fees, click on the Forms and Documents button, then 'Field Use Permit Request’.  All field permit applications should be emailed to [email protected] or dropped off at Borough Hall, Attn: Recreation. Applications are not approved until availability is given by Field Coordinator/Recreation Director and permit fees are paid.

Beginning November 1, up to 2 hours will be allotted for open play field time, 5 days out of the week at the LaTrenta/Chestnut Ridge Field. Open play will be play at your own risk and designated for unorganized teams or individuals. Organized teams and/or individuals providing instruction will still need to go through the field permit system. The schedule of open play will change weekly (but remain as consistent as possible) depending on the needs of local organizations etc. Open play times will be posted on the field schedule which can be found on MontvaleRecreation.org/fields. Anyone looking to use the fields during open play should check the field schedule prior to arriving. Open play will not be permitted outside of designated times. Equipment cannot be left at the fields for open play. Any equipment left on the fields will stored for a period of time to claim and then discarded if not claimed.
